PENANG BALIK PULAU NATURE & KAMPUNG HUNTS WELCOME TO THE BALIK PULAU !! Let’s break away from the daily routine and the hustle and bustle of the business, commercial and industrial districts. Just over 26 kilometres and 13 kilometres away from George Town and Bayan Lepas respectively, Balik Pulau is a great contrast to the northern and eastern parts of Penang Island. The lifestyle of Balik Pulau, which literally means ‘the other side of the island’ exactly depicts its name. The opposite of the fast-paced north-east district of Penang Island, Balik Pulau, with its slow-paced lifestyle is an excellent location for people in the fast-moving business, commerce and industry sectors to have a getaway to rejuvenate themselves, physically and mentally. Cool breeze from the hills, tranquil Malay villages, charming fishing villages, Chinese farmhouses and vegetable farms, fruit plantations, paddy fields, animal farms and the mangrove forest will greet you as you arrive at Balik Pulau that is surrounded by lush greenery.Â
Participants will get to experience the countryside lifestyle such as fishing in the creek, planting rice and cycling along the village and farm trails to discover the fascinating living culture in the countryside. They will also be given an opportunity to make kites, play traditional games and shoot elastic bands, feed farm animals such as goats, and have hands-on experience in making traditional handicrafts. The adventurers will have a fair share of adventure rides on the all-terrain vehicle (ATV) across the countryside. The participants will get to visit several villages and to familiarise themselves with the traditional lifestyles of the Malay and Chinese in the area. They will also get to savour the local fruits in the area, such as durians, during the fruits season.
The afternoon session is an indoor programme that incorporates classroom teambuilding activities that cover teamwork assessment, team weaknesses, team development as well as resolving team conflict and building a winning team. The afternoon session will involve teamwork simulation; promote team synergy; attempt to balance individual problems and differences; incorporate team conflict management and share an insight on the Tuckman’s Team Development model. Participants will benefit from this workshop in terms of acquiring leadership skills, sharpening their time management skills, improving communication skills, and gaining ability to construct team strategies and delegation. Participants will also learn to trust their team mates and to be motivated to succeed. |
